Jets' Justin fields offers incredible response to possible playoff spot after 0-5 start image

The New York Jets dropped to 0-5 with a 37-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in a game that showcased all that was wrong with Aaron Glenn's team.

If you needed any idea of the sort of job that is in front of Glenn to turn this ship around, watch the Jets flail against Dallas.

The offense was held to six points until the fourth quarter, the offensive line gave up five sacks to a Cowboys defense that, up until then, had no pass rush through the opening month, and the self-inflicted wounds, goodness me.

It was just yuck, and when presented with the stat of no team starting 0-5 has made the playoffs by a reporter post-game, quarterback Justin Fields' message was one that was a glass-half-full approach.

"There's a first time for everything," Fields said. "But we're not basing our life off of statistics."

If you needed any more clarification as to the job ahead of Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey, look no further than this game, as the Jets simply got in their own way with penalties, Breece Hall's fumble which for most, turned the tide of the game as Dallas marched 90 yards in 11 plays to score a touchdown to go up 17-3.

In total, 10 penalties crippled the Jets, so too the five sacks given up, with Fields struggling to get anything going, and it wasn't until the Cowboys put the cue in the rack in the fourth quarter that the offense started to move the ball.

But with Garrett Wilson only having two catches with four minutes left in the third quarter, things just didn't go well again for New York.

No team has ever made the playoffs at 0-5, but the Jets are looking at that; they're looking at how they can bank that first win.
