The New York Jets will have to wait another week to claim their first win of the season after getting blown off the MetLife Stadium turf by the Dallas Cowboys 37-22.

The Jets started out reasonably well and were within striking distance, but as New York was driving in the second quarter and made its way to the Dallas 23-yard line, running back Breece Hall fumbled, with the Cowboys recovering.

Dallas then went 90 yards in 11 plays to score a touchdown and go up 17-3, and the who game changed.

The Jets then went three-and-out before Dallas scored another touchdown to go up 23-3 at halftime, and yeah, Hall knows how big that fumble was.

“The costly fumble from me, which was unacceptable, can’t shoot ourselves in the foot,” Hall said. “As one of the best players on offense, you can’t put us in that situation, unacceptable, learn from it, it is what it is, but you got to learn from it.”

Hall's fumble overshadows ground game

Breece's fumble was devastating for the offense, but what will make Aaron Glenn and Co. even more annoyed is that the Jets' run game was doing as it pleased, and while Hall would end his day going for 113 yards on 14 carries, it was that costly fumble that spoiled it.

This Jets team isn't built to come from behind, especially against an offense like the Cowboys, and down 17-3, that isn't a good spot to be, and New York crumbled as a result...but the ground game was making headway.

Down 30-6 entering the fourth quarter, it was a bleak situation for the Jets, and now at 0-5, many are wondering where that first win will come from.

Either way, until the franchise stops these self-inflicted wounds, it might be a while until victory is tasted.
