Most knew that if the New York Jets were to win their first game of the season, against another winless team in the Miami Dolphins, that star receiver Garrett Wilson would need to play a huge role.
Seen as New York's best offensive weapon, it would make sense for coordinator Tanner Engstrand to feature him and feature him often.
But in the first half at Hard Rock Stadium, with the Jets down 10-0 as time was winding down in the first half, Wilson had just two catches for 19 yards, with his second catch coming with roughly 30 seconds left in the half.
The Jets had a clear run-first approach against the Dolphins, and as such, Wilson, who has posted at least 50 yards in the first three games of the season, was a non-factor.

Jets need a Wilson explosion in second half
With Braelon Allen out of the game with a knee injury, we aren't sure if Engstrand will continue to lean on the run game as much with Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis, so Wilson and his fellow receivers might be about to get some serious work.
Justin Fields posted just 50 passing yards in the first half, compared to the 115 rushing yards, so the plan of attack is clear.
But the Jets paid Wilson like a top receiver, so they have to give him targets so he can be that guy, and in the first half, they barely looked his way.
That must change in the second half.
