New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has been battling injuries all offseason long. There were days when head coach Brian Daboll did not have Nabers practicing.

In reality, a lot of Giants fans didn't want him practicing anyways so he could be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. Well, Nabers is not practicing on Friday for New York. Will he be able to play in Week 1 on Sunday against the Washington Commanders?

New York Giants Wide Receiver Malik Nabers Will Play on Sunday against the Washington Commanders

Daboll spoke to reporters on Friday, including Art Stapleton who covers the Giants for North Jersey and also USA Today. Daboll said,

"He’ll be fine for the game. Back’s a little tight, but he’ll be all right."

This is good that Nabers will be available for Sunday's matchup against Washington. He is by far the best wide receiver option on the Giants. During the 2024 NFL season, Nabers caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards receiving, and seven touchdowns. He averaged 11.0 yards per reception and was targeted 170 times.

It will be interesting to see how often quarterback Russell Wilson will get Nabers involved early in the game against Washington. Even with him on the injury report, it really is not a big deal because Nabers is going to be ready to go and make an impact. It would not be a surprise to see him have over 100 yards in Week 1 even with his "back injury" being a factor as to why he missed practice on Friday.
