The New York Giants are 0-3 to start the 2025 NFL season and head coach Brian Daboll is already feeling the heat. With the offense being inconsistent during the last three weeks, Daboll is turning to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart in week four against the Los Angeles Chargers.

He will be starting over quarterback Russell Wilson. With Daboll making the switch, this could potentially be his last chance to save his job. They drafted him 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Dart is not the first Ole Miss Rebels quarterback to be starting for this franchise. Eli Manning also played for the Rebels and the Giants in his football career. Hopefully, this kid can turn into the next franchise quarterback and provide hope for the future.

NFL Insiders Believe This is Brian Daboll's Last Hope to Save Job with the New York Giants

Charlotte Carroll and Dan Duggan of the Athletic wrote about how Dart being the starting quarterback was mainly the decision of the head coach. This is the last lifeline for him to save his job, or he will be out of a job after this season. They said about Daboll making this move,

"The pressure to succeed immediately will be immense for Dart, who is not only being charged with helping lead the Giants out of their 0-3 hole but also, in all likelihood, helping to save Daboll’s job. The Giants coach entered the season on the hot seat and a winless start certainly hasn’t cooled things off.

Daboll’s Giants are a miserable 3-17 since the start of last season. If Dart can’t help turn things around, it’s likely the Giants will be looking for a new coach next season — and maybe a new general manager, as Joe Schoen is just as culpable for the Giants’ struggles the past couple of years."

If the Giants can go 7-7 in games that Dart starts in, there is a chance that Daboll and Schoen will survive for another season. If he struggles and they can't win many games, then this franchise is going to clean house and start all over again after the 2025 season ends. For a rookie, he has many jobs to save.

The rookie quarterback does not feel the pressure at all, but there is no doubt that there he has to play well right off the bat. Facing the Chargers defense won't be easy, but if he can play well against them, then things should get easier for him the following week against the New Orleans Saints. Dart being the week four starter for the Giants is one of the biggest storylines in the NFL at the moment.
