Should Chiefs risk Xavier Worthy in Super Bowl rematch? image

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy hasn't had the best of starts to Year 2, with the speed merchant only lasting a couple of plays in Week 1 before dislocating his shoulder in a collision with Travis Kelce.

Worthy was ruled out of the game, and he didn't practice early in the week, with the head coach Andy Reid saying that Worthy was day-to-day.

But now we might have gotten some good news on the injury front for the Chiefs, as Worthy was seen practicing on Thursday during individual drills, while sporting some serious padding on his injured shoulder.

So that is promising, right? Absolutely.

But as far as his status for the Philadelphia Eagles clash on Sunday? We aren't too sure.

Because doing individual drills is one thing, but taking big hits from linebackers who are coming for blood is another thing entirely.

Still, the fact that Worthy can practice, even in a limited capacity, is a good sign.

Should Chiefs risk Worthy vs. Eagles?

This is the biggest question aimed at Reid and his coaching staff.

We are in Week 2, and even if the Chiefs start 0-2, it won't be the end of the world, but if Worthy plays, and hurts his shoulder even further, and it requires surgery? Yeah, that's nightmare fuel.

With Xavier practicing on Thursday, he will have a couple of days to get the shoulder as close to 100 percent as he can, but can Kansas City really carry a player who isn't fully fit into a game of this magnitude?

That's why the coaching staff is paid the big dollars.

Worthy practicing is good news, but should Kansas City risk its star offensive weapon?
