Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been the topic of conversation over the last couple of weeks.

Why? Because the 36-year-old is close to the end of his career.

Reportedly mulling over retirement last offseason, focus turns to Kelce to see if he will go around for a 14th NFL season in 2026.

With the Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos potentially his last at Arrowhead, when asked about his future post-game, Travis, as expected, didn't give anything away.

"Honestly, I've been just focused on trying to win football games," Kelce said. "I'll let that be a decision that I make with my family, friends, the Chiefs organization, when the time comes."

Should Kelce retire?

Looking at Travis' 2025 stats, you can make the case that he shouldn't.

He leads the Chiefs in receiving yards (839), receptions (73), targets (102), and is joint first in touchdowns (5).

But being 36, there isn't the same threat from Kelce downfield this season, despite his 11.5 yards per reception.

Plus, it does feel like a good time to end this illustrious story, given how the season has panned out, and the need for the Chiefs to replenish the roster.

The next couple of months will be interesting, with Kelce still figuring out exactly what his next steps are.
