Travis Kelce grew up as a quarterback in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
His NFL attempts at throwing the ball haven't always gone as well as they likely did back in the day in Northeast Ohio.
Kelce revisited one of those moments on his New Heights podcast earlier this week when Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo joined the show. Spagnuolo was calling the Giants defense back in the day when Kelce threw an ugly interception.
On the trick play, Kelce admits he had one read, but he wanted to let it fly deep, so he "went rogue."
Kelce's throw traveled quite the distance with a great spiral, but it was right to Giants safety Landon Collins.
Brother Jason chimed in: "It was the most impressive 80-yard torpedo of an interception."
"That's exactly why I got moved to tight end," Travis said.
The further explanation: "I had one read, and it was Tyreek," Travis said. "But he looked like he was double covered, so I threw it back across the field."
Travis knows exactly how tough it is to be a QB against a Spags defense

Kelce has a case as the greatest tight end ever.
As an NFL passer, he's 1-for-3 for four yards.
After that 2017 interception, Andy Reid didn't dial up another Kelce pass play until 2020. That season, he threw twice, completing one for a 4-yard first down.
It seems wise to just let Patrick Mahomes keep being the thrower in Kansas City, but maybe Kelce still has one more chuck in him before he retires.
