Chiefs' Travis Kelce reveals 1 thing key to coming back in 2026 image

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has a huge decision make regarding his future.

To go on for a 14th NFL season or ride off into the sunset as one of the greatest tight ends ever, content with his career.

Kelce stated post-game after the loss to the Las Vegas Raiders that he was always coming back after last season, so the decision was made rather quickly.

But this time it might take a little more time.

And Kelce detailed one thing he would have to do if he decides to come back in 2026.

"Obviously didn't do well as a team, but I feel like I came into the season prepared, and ready to rock and roll with the right intentions," Kelce said via Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star. "The ball just didn't go our way in a lot of those close games. I think if I do choose to come back, it's something that I really got to focus on, and making sure that I'm available, that I'm ready for those moments."

Can Kelce be fully committed to another NFL season?

That is something Travis has to ask himself.

Can his body go through another training camp and a full 17-game season?

One thing we know about Travis is that he isn't one to go on a veteran program to ease his way through training camp -- he'll do it all.

So, another training camp, all the meetings, and then the games, can Travis see himself doing it all over again? Or does the thought feel a little too exhausting?

Over the next few weeks, that is something the future Hall of Famer will have to figure out. Because while the body might be willing to do it, the mind might not be.
