The fallout from the Kansas City Chiefs' 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos has been exactly what you'd imagine -- not good.
Now at 5-5 with the AFC West, likely for the first time in nine years, unattainable for Kansas City, and even a playoff spot looks unlikely right now, this is uncharted territory for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
Granted, there is still hope that the Chiefs can turn this ship around in time to punch their ticket to the playoffs, but it promises to be a difficult task.
Especially when in Eric Edholm's latest power rankings, the Chiefs have tumbled all the way down to No. 15. Yeah, you read that right.
“Hearing Patrick Mahomes almost acknowledge that the AFC West is gone was downright shocking,” Edholm wrote. “There's still a playoff-caliber roster here, but multiple losing streaks in a single season is an identity crisis for Kansas City.”

Chiefs facing identity crisis?
It is rare to see the Chiefs in such a position after 10 games, and it is even rarer to see that the once invincible team in the fourth quarter of one-score games has suddenly lost all five this season.
Last year, the Chiefs were 12-0 in one-score games, including the playoffs.
But this season? The football gods have had enough with Kansas City 0-5.
Has the magic run out? Or are the Chiefs simply not as good in pressure situations as they once were?
Either way, the next handful of games are going to be crucial to the Chiefs' playoff hopes, which are already wafer-thin.
The Chiefs have to find their identity and fast, otherwise their season could be over before we get to Thanksgiving.
