The Kansas City Chiefs missed the playoffs in 2025 for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, something that was shocking to see.
But it has allowed the franchise extra time to go through its roster with a fine-tooth comb, identify its weaknesses, and address them.
One is receiver, as Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy appear to be Patrick Mahomes' only trustworthy options.
So, how could the Chiefs look to bring back some of their explosiveness under Eric Bieniemy?
What about Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill? He's hinted multiple times that a reunion could be on the cards, and now comes ESPN's Bill Barnwell, having Hill as a cut candidate this offseason.
"Hill is due $36 million in 2026, all of which is nonguaranteed. There is a zero percent chance he's going to play on that deal next season," Barnwell wrote. "He could theoretically return to the Dolphins on a reduced salary, but with Mike McDaniel fired, the Dolphins rebuilding and whatever happened at the end of 2024 leaving a bad taste in the organization's mouth, it seems a safe bet that Hill has played his last snap in Miami.
"His options will depend on whether and when Hill is healthy enough to play."

Hill could be a Chief in 2026
If Hill has played his last down as a Dolphin and is cut (the Chiefs won't trade for him with that contract), Kansas City looms as a possible destination.
Of course, how much salary Tyreek wants coming off that knee injury is key, so too is how healthy he will be. Suffering a dislocated knee and several torn ligaments in Week 4, it could be a long way back for Hill to get to full fitness.
But the Chiefs know Hill, how to utilize him, and he would give them a home-run threat, provided he's healthy enough.
With the Dolphins appearing like they are ready to part ways, a Chiefs reunion for Hill seems rather feasible right now.
