The Kansas City Chiefs managed a stirring 23-20 overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts to keep their season alive at Arrowhead Stadium.
Now at 6-5, the Chiefs continue their march to another postseason, and it appears the front office wanted to get some more bodies for the running back room.
Just hours after the Chiefs beat the Colts, the franchise, per Jordan Schultz, has signed former Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce to add some experience to their running back room.
With Kareem Hunt posting 104 yards and a touchdown from 30 carries, and Isiah Pacheco still on the sidelines, the Chiefs clearly felt that more is needed to aid Patrick Mahomes and the offense in the second half of the season.

Chiefs adding Pierce mean concern for Pacheco?
With Hunt taking the majority of the carries, and Pacheco on the sidelines, plus having Elijah Mitchell on the roster, the Chiefs' signing Pierce is an interesting piece of business.
Granted, given how the Chiefs' run game looked against the Colts, Hunt having 30 carries isn't sustainable, especially for a team that needs to go on a run, as well as potentially having playoff football, they hope, on the horizon.
Exactly where Pierce fits in isn't known just yet, but the Chiefs clearly felt a need to get some depth to their running back room, and in the fourth-year back, they get one who can also be a shrewd special teams player, too.
