Chiefs reveal Patrick Mahomes' injury mindset with 3 incredible words image

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already on the fast track back to being healthy after his ACL injury suffered on Sunday.

Mahomes has already had surgery in Dallas to repair his knee, and now he is attacking his rehab over the next day or two before returning to the Chiefs' facility to continue his road back to full health.

Given that this is the first time in his NFL career Mahomes has had to deal with an injury of this magnitude, how he is doing mentally is a big watch.

But according to head coach Andy Reid, Patrick's doing just fine.

“He's so positive right now,” Reid said. “He attacked this thing the day after, but wouldn't expect anything less. Get me up and get me going. He basically saying that an hour after the game, so brace me up and let me go. It's not one of those injuries, obviously, but that's his mindset. He'll do great with the rehab. Pretty fast healer that way.

"His attitude, that's about 90% of the thing, how you go about it, how willing are you to push through the pain of getting it right?”

Show must go on for Chiefs

Reid stated the crazy business of the NFL and how the team has to move on because there are three regular-season games left.

Already out of the playoffs, and having Gardner Minshew starting in place of Patrick, it will be a different look for the remaining three weeks for the Chiefs.

But there will be no feeling sorry for themselves; Kansas City will be all gas, no brakes, in an attempt to finish the season in a positive manner.

It has been a horror season all around, and Sunday's game, which saw the Chiefs be dumped out of playoff contention and also lose Mahomes, was a cruel blow.

But as we know, the NFL waits for no one, and the Chiefs are finding that out the hard way.
