Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt is likely still battered and bruised after Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, which took overtime to get the win.

Hunt was a pivotal piece of the Chiefs' game plan, having a career-high 30 rushing attempts for 104 yards and a touchdown, and considering Hunt hasn't had more than 13 carries in a game this year, that is quite the workload he had at Arrowhead.

And now, with a couple of days' break before the Chiefs travel to face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving, Hunt needs to recover as quickly as possible because he will again be a key piece of what Kansas City does.

Head coach Andy Reid has offered a little update on Kareem as the week has progressed.

"Yeah, I'm proud of him, and he's upright, which is a positive thing,” Reid said. “So, he's doing good. It just shows you what he's put into it. I think at that age, at that position, those guys don't normally hang around very long and be productive like he was this past week. He wanted more, guess that's a good thing.”

Will Isaiah Pacheco play in Week 13?

A big reason for Hunt having 30 attempts against the Colts was due to Isiah Pacheco being on the sidelines, but now, it appears that the Chiefs might have their running back tandem together for Thursday's game.

"We'll see how he does today, but we'll get him in there, he'll play," Reid added.

So, Pacheco will hit the field at AT&T Stadium, and that will likely mean Hunt will go back to his 10+ carries against the Cowboys, and in truth, the pair gives the Chiefs the best chance at getting something from the run game against Dallas' stout defensive front.

Hunt had a career day against the Chiefs, and even though he wants more, he will get a reprieve as Pacheco slots back into the offense.
