The Kansas City Chiefs have a host of needs they need to address this offseason, with most being on the offensive side of the ball.
Running back is a big one, but also Patrick Mahomes' protection, as No. 15 was running for his life in 2025.
Through 14 games, Mahomes was sacked 34 times, just three shy of it being a career-high, and he still had three games left to play had he not gotten injured.
Free agency is one route the Chiefs can take to fortify Patrick's protection, but the draft is another.
And for PFF's Dalton Wasserman, with their first pick, the Chiefs select Miami tackle Francis Mauigoa.
“The Chiefs are facing a difficult salary cap situation this offseason, and right tackle Jawaan Taylor could emerge as a cap casualty with no guaranteed salary remaining on his contract," Wasserman writes.
"With or without Taylor, Kansas City needs to upgrade its offensive line. Miami’s Francis Mauigoa would add a physical presence in the run game and is coming off a 2025 season in which he led all qualified right tackles in pass-blocking grade.”

Chiefs set for bounce-back year?
That is the hope, especially after missing the playoffs.
Eric Bieniemy is back as offensive coordinator, so Mahomes gets a key piece of Kansas City's Super Bowl wins early in his career, back.
Travis Kelce could return, but many aren't sure, while Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are free agents.
So, the offense could look vastly different from the unit we saw struggle all too often in 2025.
But the offensive line has to improve after the numerous hits Mahomes took. Is Mauigoa the player to make sure No. 15 stays upright?
If the Chiefs take him in the first-round, that will be the hope.
