The life of a backup quarterback can be tough. You never know when your time will come, and for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chris Oladokun, he got thrown into the fire against the Tennessee Titans.

Gardner Minshew suffered a knee injury early in the game, which thrust Chris into action on the road in Tennessee.

And he did a nice job, going 11 of 16 for 111 yards in his first taste of live NFL action.

But that was from the outside.

What did he think of his performance, and what did he learn about himself?

“That the moment wasn't too big for me, I felt really calm out there,” Oladokun said. “Felt I was seeing things pretty good, game didn't seem too fast for me. You just never know how you're going to react in those situations until you're in it. I'm never too high, never too low in those moments.

"It was good to go out there and get some live regular-season snaps because that's just something that I haven't really had these past four years.”

Chiefs sign former Bills QB to active roster

With the injuries to Mahomes and Minshew, the Chiefs knew that they had to go quarterback hunting.

But the franchise didn't look too far outside of their own backyard.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posted on X that Steve Buechele was signed from the practice squad to the active roster.

Now Oladokun and Buechele will be tasked with trying to take down the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day, which looms as a Herculean task.

Still, Oladokun stated the moment on Sunday wasn't too big for him.

But what about Christmas Day? Yeah, that's a different game entirely.
