Andy Reid reveals why Eric Bieniemy was hired and Chiefs fans will love it image

The Kansas City Chiefs' offense hasn't been what we've been used to seeing over the past couple of seasons.

With Matt Nagy helping Andy Reid, the offense appeared to lose some of the zip it had with Eric Bieniemy.

Well, now with Nagy chasing a head coaching role, and Bieniemy back in Kansas City as OC, fans appear to be bullish on what EB can bring to the offense as the Chiefs look to bounce back from missing the postseason for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.

And Reid detailed the differences between Nagy and Bieniemy on the field.

“It's different, they both have their own personalities that they share with it,” Reid said. “EB, he's going to be very direct with the players, very direct with the coaches, it's a different flavor. Both have been very productive in this system here. I think it's a win-win for us that way. But there's nobody like EB on the field that way, he does a great job there.”

Chiefs undergoing a change of sorts

With Nagy out and EB in, that is one change. We still aren't sure whether Steve Spagnuolo will return as defensive coordinator, as he is also chasing a head coaching position.

Then the players.

Travis Kelce seemed to hint at his future on the New Heights podcast, stating he was excited to see Bieniemy back in the building.

So, there is a lot to play out over the coming months, but it is clear the Chiefs recognize their shortcomings from last season and are hellbent on making sure it doesn't happen again.

With Bieniemy being the first offseason domino to fall.
