Kickers have endured a rollercoaster season in the NFL. On one hand, the league instituted new rules designed to encourage more kickoff returns, forcing kickers to place their kicks rather than simply booming them deep.
On the other hand, the NFL also changed its ruling on the balls kickers are allowed to use. The new “K-ball” is more broken in and can fly farther, leading to attempts from increasing distances. One of the primary beneficiaries of these changes has been Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little.
Only two full seasons into his career, Little has taken the league by storm. He nailed a 70-yard field goal during the 2025 preseason that put him on everyone’s radar. Two months later, he etched his name into the NFL record books by kicking the longest field goal in league history.
Here’s more on Little’s longest field goals.

Cam Little's longest field goal
Little's longest career field goal, also happens to be an NFL record. The kicker launched a kick from 68 yards in Jacksonville's Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The kick came as the first half expired, and the Jaguars went on to win 30-29 in overtime.

While not official, Little has hit from 70 yards in an NFL game. He connected from 70 yards out in a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It doesn't count, but is impressive nonetheless.

What is Cam Little's touchback percentage?
Little also handles kickoff duties for the Jaguars. The new NFL kickoff rules actually encourage kickers to leave the ball short of the goal line for more returns, which doesn't play to Little's power.
Over his two year career, Little has had 173 kickoffs, and 102 of them have been touchbacks. This is a 59.0% touchback percentage.
The NFL averaged at least a 50% touchback percentage on kicks from 2014 to 2024, seeing a 64.3% touchback percentage in 2024. As a whole, the NFL touchback percentage plummeted in 2025 with only 20.7% of kickoffs being a touchback. This was the lowest mark since 2010 (16.4%).
