Cam Little 70-yard field goal: Jaguars kicker boots would-be NFL record longest FG vs. Steelers image

Cam Little has made history...sort of.

The Jaguars kicker nailed what would have been an NFL-record 70-yard field goal in Jacksonville's first preseason game against the Steelers, but because it's the preseason, the kick is not officially counted in the record books.

Jacksonville's announcers had been talking up the second-year pro's big leg all half, and when he came on the field to attempt the 70-yard boot at the end of the second quarter, he paid off their hype.

The Arkansas product had fans scratching their heads. It was an odd sight seeing him standing on his own 40-yard line on the wrong half of the field we normally see kickers on. But in an instant, he proved why head coach Liam Coen had faith in him from that distance.

Here is more on Little's would-be record kick.

Cam Little 70-yard field goal

Despite it being a 70-yard attempt, Little absolutely drilled it through the uprights.

The current NFL record for longest field goal is 66 yards, held by former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. If Little's kick had counted, he would have shattered the record by four yards.
