Broncos' Bo Nix QB replacement could potentially get the ultimate revenge in the AFC Championship image

The Broncos had a thrilling overtime win against the Bills on Saturday, but learned shortly after the game that franchise QB Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

In the Broncos' next game, backup Jarrett Stidham will take over as the starter, and he'll potentially be playing with a chip on his shoulder for one key reason.

Why will Jarrett Stidham play with a chip on his shoulder?

Stidham has started in just four games in the last four seasons during his time with the Broncos and Raiders.

However, earlier in his career, he played with the Patriots for a couple of seasons, and some believed he was next in line to take over as the starter at one point.

That didn't end up being the case, as we now know, with the Patriots moving on from Stidham, but Stidham will now possibly face the Patriots in the biggest game of his career.

The Patriots face the Texans on Sunday for a shot at playing the Broncos in Denver, which would allow Stidham to have his shot at beating his former team.

It wouldn't be the biggest revenge story in the NFL, but it would be pretty crazy to be told even a few years ago that Stidham could hand the Patriots a devastating loss in potentially one of the Patriots' biggest games in the last 5-10 years.
