The Dallas Cowboys have a pivotal matchup on Sunday afternoon at home against the New York Giants. Both Dallas and New York are 0-1 to start the 2025 NFL season.
With both teams losing in Week 1 to NFC East teams, the loser of this game is going to be 0-2 in the division, and it will put that team in a major hole. Will the Cowboys own the Giants once again this weekend or will the Giants finally put an end to this losing streak against the Cowboys?
NFL Insider Predicts the Dallas Cowboys Will Easily Beat the New York Giants
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports made his Week 2 picks for the 2025 NFL season. The Cowboys are favored by 5.5 points against the Giants on Sunday. Prisco predicts that Dallas is going to beat New York by a final score of 28-17. Prisco said about this,
"Russell Wilson and the Giants are on the road for the second consecutive week against a team with added rest playing its home opener. That's a brutal challenge. But it's even worse because Wilson struggled in Week 1. Dak Prescott did not. The Cowboys will get their first victory here as Prescott plays well."
Prescott has played well throughout his NFL career against the Giants. The last time that New York defeated Dallas on the road was on September 11, 2016. This has been a one-sided rivalry over the last 10 years between the Cowboys and the Giants. Despite some of the defensive issues that Dallas may have, New York's offense can't even move the football down the field and have a really bad offense.
If Wilson plays bad once again for the Giants, New York fans are going to want to see rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. With Prisco predicting this score to be 28-17, would it be shocking if the Cowboys had a 21-0 lead at one point against the Giants? A lot of people like Dallas to beat New York this weekend. If the Cowboys for some reason were upset at home, then things have the chance to go downhill for them.
