The Dallas Cowboys were dead in the water at 21-0 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at AT&T Stadium, but Brian Schottenheimer's team, which lay battered and bruised, didn't give up.

Instead, they started punching back, and as time went on, it was Dallas who was landing brutal body punches on an Eagles defense that many think is one of the best in football.

Dak Prescott and George Pickens were on fire, while Javonte Williams and the rushing attack bullied Philadelphia. Oh, and don't forget the Cowboys' defense, which, after being torched early on, got its mojo back.

Saquon Barkley was held to just 22 yards on 10 carries as the Eagles couldn't run the ball at all, and for FS1's Colin Cowherd, the entire franchise gets credit for producing what was a sensational comeback.

"Philly's been tempting fate for weeks, and nobody can quite beat them, then the Cowboys do,” Cowherd said. “To score 24 unanswered points against a really, really good defense. Credit to everybody, even Matt Eberflus. Everybody gets credit for this one."

Cowboys' season alive with Chiefs looming

Now at 5-5-1, the Cowboys' season is still likely to end without playoff football, but Schottenheimer's team isn't going quietly into that goodnight -- they're fighting with everything they have.

After slaying the Eagles, now, on a short week, the Kansas City Chiefs, who themselves are in a spot of bother, need a win as desperately as Dallas does.

That will make for a monster Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium, with both teams coming off stirring wins to keep their seasons alive.

Can the Cowboys reproduce what they did against the Eagles?

To get past the Chiefs, they have to.
