It is another year, and another playoff failure for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

This was supposed to be "the" year the Bills broke through with no Patrick Mahomes, but they once again stumbled at the divisional stage.

Now, attention turns to the offseason, and questions have to be asked of head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane, not to mention Josh Allen.

Will changes be forthcoming?

For some, yes, and for ESPN's Ben Solak, Buffalo's end to the season is an enormous failure.

"The Bills have now made it to seven consecutive postseasons with Allen at the helm, which means they've suffered seven postseason losses," Solak wrote. "Whether fair or unfair, the buck stops at the top, and the fact that the Bills have failed to make a Super Bowl in Allen's tenure despite seven postseason appearances is an enormous failure."

Will Bills change their ways?

Moving on from a head coach and general manager in the same offseason isn't something a team with a Hall of Famer quarterback at the helm does. That's reserved for teams finishing at the bottom year after year.

But the Bills must now be asking the question.

Have Beane and McDermott taken this franchise as far as they can?

McDermott has been with the team for nine years, as has Beane, and they have just two AFC Championship appearances. That's it.

After a poor end to the year, things might need to be freshened up.

If there were a time to cut the cord, that time might have come.
