Insider reveals potential reason Sean McDermott was fired, and it will anger Bills fans image

The Buffalo Bills' decision to move on from head coach Sean McDermott has been met with differing views.

Some thought it was time due to the consistent playoff failures. Others thought that McDermott deserved more time given what he had done for the franchise over the course of his tenure.

Either way, the Bills' decision to fire McDermott is done, and now the franchise has to look for his replacement.

But what actually went into the decision to move on from McDermott?

Vic Carucci of WGRZ knows, and it appears Buffalo's front office didn't like the way McDermott expressed his views on the current state of the roster.

"I’m told that during a meeting held five weeks ago between McDermott, Beane and Pegula, the coach pointed out what the roster lacked to win a Super Bowl," Carucci wrote. "I don’t know the specifics McDermott mentioned, but I’m told neither Beane nor Pegula was pleased with McDermott’s assessment."

McDermott right in his assessment

In a nutshell, McDermott told both Brandon Beane and Terry Pegula what the roster lacked to win a Super Bowl, and they didn't like it.

That points directly to the missteps of Beane to build a Super Bowl-winning roster.

But instead of taking it on board and fixing the problems McDermott pointed out, they fired him.

Now with Beane in control of the football department, there's no one else to blame if things go wrong.

The head coach and general manager were no longer on the same page, which led to McDermott being moved on.

And McDermott was right. There are several roster reasons why the Bills haven't won a Super Bowl, and it appears that Beane and Pegula didn't want to hear it.
