ESPN analyst reveals 1 key reason Bills could be scariest team in the playoffs image

The Buffalo Bills have been an interesting watch this season, and sitting at 9-4 ahead of Week 15, Sean McDermott's team has it all in front of them with the division and a playoff spot still within their grasp.

The New England Patriots, at 11-2, lead the division, but if Buffalo wins on Sunday, the gap will close, and the Bills would be within striking distance, plus, as the sixth seed in the AFC at the time of writing, a playoff spot is in good order to be obtained.

But while some might doubt the Bills' ability, in what was supposed to be their year to win it all, ESPN's Dan Graziano sees it differently for Buffalo.

With no Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson (right now at least), in the playoffs, the Bills, among fellow AFC playoff teams, would be the most battle-tested out of the lot.

"If Buffalo gets into the playoffs -- even as a wild-card team -- and teams such as the Ravens and Chiefs miss, the Bills will be easily the most playoff-tested squad in the field," Graziano writes. "They'd prefer to play home games in Buffalo in January if possible, of course, but I wouldn't count them out just because they have to go on the road to a place like Foxborough or Pittsburgh or Jacksonville."

Bills looming as dangerous playoff team

With Josh Allen at the helm, that's a given.

But the Mahomes and Jackson thought here is a big one, particularly Patrick, because as we know, he's ended the Bills' season four straight times, so he is Buffalo's worst nightmare in the playoffs.

And if Mahomes and the Chiefs were to miss the playoffs, what would that do to the Bills mentally? Also adding in that the Ravens might not make it in either? Buffalo would surely fancy its chances against anyone, right?

That is Graziano's thinking, and I tend to agree.

The Bills are the most playoff-tested team in the AFC, and if they do make it into the tournament, and Patrick and Lamar don't, you will be hard-pressed to find many who won't think the Bills, with Allen at the helm, are a genuine shot at making the Super Bowl.
