The Buffalo Bills will go on the road to take on the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round of the 2026 NFL playoffs.
The Bills are coming off a win over Jacksonville in the Wild Card round, but it came at a cost. Buffalo was already dealing with injuries to its wide receiver corps and added more in the victory against the Jaguars. Both Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers went down with knee injuries that will end their respective seasons.
Buffalo heads into its Divisional Round game against Denver with just three active wide receivers. There is hope the Bills could get one of their four receivers back from injured reserve, but for now, it appears quarterback Josh Allen’s weapons will be depleted.
Here is more on the Bills’ wide receiver depth chart, decimated by injuries.

Bills WR depth chart
| Position | Player Name |
| 1. | Khalil Shakir |
| 2. | Brandin Cooks |
| 3. | Keon Coleman |
| 4. | Curtis Samuel - IR |
| 5. | Joshua Palmer - IR |
| 6. | Tyrell Shavers - IR |
| 7. | Gabe Davis - IR |
Shakir played in 16 games during the regular season and had the second-most receiving yards on the team. He finished the year with 719 yards and four touchdowns on 72 receptions. Shakir brought in all 12 of his targets for 82 yards.
Cooks was signed to the Bills on November 25, 2025, after he was released by the New Orleans Saints. He played in only five regular-season games, but finished with 114 yards on five receptions. In the Wild Card win, Cooks finished with 58 yards on three receptions, but had an important 36-yard reception.
Coleman played in 13 regular-season games. He didn't have any injuries, but instead faced team discipline and was listed as a healthy scratch for several games. Still, he had the second-most receptions (38) and yards (404) for a wide receiver, and was tied for second on the team with four receiving touchdowns.
Curtis Samuel has been sidelined since November 28 due to an elbow injury. He returned to practice this week and was a full practice participant on Tuesday and Wednesday, giving him a decent chance to be activated before the game against Denver.
Joshua Palmer had a Grade 2 ankle sprain ahead of the Wild Card game and was placed on IR ending his season. Shavers and Davis were placed on IR after the Wild Card win and will also be unable to return this season.
Buffalo has Stephen Gosnell, Mecole Hardman Jr. And Kristian Wilkerson on the practice squad. Since the Bills only have three healthy active wide receivers, one or more of that trio will likely be activated for game day against the Broncos.

What happened to Gabe Davis?
Davis was diagnosed with a torn ACL that he suffered in the Bills' Wild Card Round matchup in Jacksonville. Quarterback Josh Allen threw over the middle and as Davis went to catch the ball, he was hit by three different defenders. He was helped off the field, didn't return to the game and was diagnosed with a knee injury that was revealed to be a torn ACL.

What happened to Tyrell Shavers?
Shavers was diagnosed with a torn ACL. That means that both he and Davis tore their ACLs in the Wild Card win over the Jaguars. The crazy thing about Shavers, though, is that he suffered his injury in the second quarter. He came back into the game and played despite the injury. Shavers played 22 of the Bills' 34 offensive snaps in the second half with a torn ACL.
