Buffalo Bills receiver Keon Coleman was on the outer of the offense after reportedly being late to a team meeting that saw him be a healthy scratch for two consecutive weeks.
For some, that was the kick up the backside the second-year receiver needed, but it would only be what was needed if Keon heeded the message the franchise was trying to tell him.
Well, it appears the message has gotten through.
Josh Allen and Sean McDermott have been positive about Coleman and his approach over the past week or so, and now Khalil Shakir is the latest Bill to notice a change in Keon and how he is going about his business.
“I think for him, it's just every day showing that he's going to be consistent,” Shakir said. “I think he's gotten a lot better at that, showing up, being here on time, coming out here when it comes to walkthroughs, practices, and focusing in on the little details, all those little things that can potentially turn to big things if you don't do.
"I think he's been excellent at executing all that. He's definitely taking a step in the right direction.”

Coleman beginning to win back trust
We know that success in the NFL isn't linear, particularly for a young player, and Keon is another example of that.
Dion Dawkins stated weeks ago, after Keon was disciplined, that he is in the young receiver's corner, but now is the time to come on, and since then, it appears Coleman is doing what the franchise has asked him to be.
Be more consistent.
Coleman caught a touchdown in the 26-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, so things are starting to roll in a positive way both on and off the field for Keon, but he has to continue it.
Positive strides have been made, which is great, but it is a step in the right direction; Keon hasn't reached his final destination yet.
