Bills' Josh Allen reveals the key in monster second-half turnaround vs. Patriots image

The Buffalo Bills, midway through their battle with the New England Patriots, were down 21-0, and it looked like Drake Maye and Co. Were on their way to a curb-stomping division win.

But the Bills didn't go quietly, and slowly made a comeback, with the offense scoring a touchdown just before halftime to make it a 21-7 deficit.

However, after the main break, the tables turned.

Buffalo scored touchdowns on four straight possessions, while the Patriots stuttered, and Josh Allen led a comeback for the ages, which resulted in a 35-31 win that denied New England the division for at least another week.

But what was the catalyst for such an incredible second-half turnaround?

“We stayed the course,” Allen said. “Stayed together, didn't ride the highs, didn't ride the lows. Just told ourselves at halftime, we really felt like we were hurting ourselves in the first half. Going out there and just trying to execute each and every given play.”

Bills' AFC East dreams still alive

Just one game behind the Patriots now, the Bills are still going to need some help and will have to win out and hope New England stumbles in the final three games to have a shot at the AFC East.

But there is now no margin for error for New England, who face a Baltimore Ravens team that just pitched a 24-0 shutout against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.

So, things are getting tight for the AFC East, and with the Bills now very much in the conversation, we will see how the Patriots handle this new level of pressure in the following weeks.

The bullies of the AFC East aren't going down without a fight.
