Is Bills' Josh Allen an MVP candidate? ESPN analyst has interesting take image

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen reminded us all of the weapon he is in the Week 14 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, making incredible plays with his arm and his legs.

Having won the MVP award last year, Allen hasn't played at that level in 2025, or at least not as consistently.

With 22 passing touchdowns, 3,083 yards (70 percent completion percentage), 10 interceptions, along with 487 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, Allen has still been super productive.

But is he in the MVP conversation? For ESPN's Bill Barnwell, you can never completely rule him out.

“Allen is obviously still capable of driving the entire Bills offense in games in which they need something special, such as Sunday's comeback win over the Bengals," Barnwell wrote. "However, if the Bills launch a late comeback to win the division through Allen, we can never rule the 29-year-old out of the race.”

Could Allen win MVP?

Put it this way, Allen would have to have a near-flawless last four games, play at an elite level without turning the ball over, and win the division.

Could that happen? Sure.

But when you have Matthew Stafford, who has played the most consistently of any quarterback in football, Drake Maye as well, and throw in Dak Prescott, there are other candidates who merit more consideration.

But as Barnwell points out, if Allen does go supernova in the final four games and pulls the Bills over the top of the Patriots for the division, and looks good doing it, then who knows how the voters will see it.

I'd say it's unlikely, but as we saw last year, you just never know how it's going to play out.
