Bills' Dion Dawkins offers incredible message to Keon Coleman after latest setback image

The Buffalo Bills' 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was just what the doctor ordered for the AFC East champs, but the big storyline to come out of the game was Keon Coleman being a healthy scratch.

Reportedly for being late to a team meeting, Coleman was forced to sit and watch the offense, led by Josh Allen, roll and put up 44 points on Tampa Bay and move to 7-3 on the season.

For Keon, it has been a tough season, battling inconsistency and off-field issues, for which he has already been disciplined, and left tackle Dion Dawkins offered an incredible message about the current predicament Coleman is in.

“I've already spoke to him,” Dawkins said. “I said, "Bro, look, don't even worry about it. Everybody goes through a different journey, right? Let's just say that this is the last time. Let's just move forward." And he said, "I'm with you." That's all we need, right? Nobody's perfect, but in this league, we need guys to come on.

"Keon knows, right now, he's in a hot seat, and he needs to come on and show up for us. Pats on the back are over with, and it's time for him to grow up, and he knows it."

All eyes on Coleman this week

There is no doubt that Keon will be under the microscope this week at practice, and going by Dawkins' words, he knows exactly where he stands.

This will go one of two ways for Coleman.

He will heed the warnings, put his head down, get to work, and become the weapon the Bills drafted him to be because we have seen glimpses of his talents.

Or he won't.

And if that is the case, we can't imagine that it will be looked at too kindly.

Dawkins stated it is time for Keon to grow up. Time will tell if he does.
