Ravens take huge tumble in latest power rankings after Lions beatdown image

There were so many things wrong with the Baltimore Ravens in the 38-30 loss to the Detroit Lions that we don't know where to start.

Lamar Jackson was sacked seven times, the defense again gave up 30+ points, and allowed a 19-play touchdown drive that lasted over 10 minutes in the second quarter as Detroit dominated the Ravens in their own building.

Such was the manner in which the Lions were able to do what they wanted; the Ravens are suddenly facing the prospect of going 1-3 should they lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

According to CBS Sports' Pete Prisco in his latest power rankings, Baltimore took a significant tumble, dropping six spots to land at No. 11 after the Lions' loss.

"They have line issues on both sides of the ball," Prisco writes. "The defense got pushed around and the offensive line didn't protect Lamar Jackson against the Lions. Now they have a huge one with the Chiefs."

Ravens' season on the line vs. Chiefs

The Ravens started 0-2 last season before beating the Dallas Cowboys, which kick-started a five-game win streak, and heading into Arrowhead Stadium, there is a real possibility of Baltimore dropping to 1-3, and their season would be on life support.

The saving grace is that the Chiefs, through three weeks, have looked awful offensively, so Baltimore might be able to halt Patrick Mahomes and Co., plus Kansas City struggles to run the ball, so the Ravens likely won't have to deal with a monster rushing attack like they did against Detroit.

Still, this now feels like a must-win because at 2-2, their season is well and truly alive, but drop to 1-3, with losses to the Buffalo Bills and Chiefs, which would have huge playoff implications as well, then John Harbaugh's team will be swimming against the tide for the rest of the 2025 season.

And when you have Super Bowl aspirations, that is a horrible place to be.
