Tennessee Titans rookie (and former Texas Longhorn) Gunnar Helm made history in Week 15, etching his name into the franchise’s record books against the San Francisco 49ers.

With his first catch on Sunday, Helm surpassed Bo Scaife for the most receptions in franchise history among rookie tight ends. Scaife, another former Texas Longhorn, hauled in 37 passes as a rookie in 2005.

Helm also added a 34-yard touchdown in the second quarter and led all Titans receivers with 49 yards on four catches against San Francisco. So far, the first-year tight end has been a reliable target for quarterback, and fellow rookie, Cam Ward. Helm ranks second on the team in receptions (41), third in yards (347), and third in receiving touchdowns (2).

Helm was selected in the fourth round of the 2025 Draft (120th overall) after four years at Texas. In 2024, his final season as a Longhorn, Helm was named second-team All-SEC and was a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top college tight end.
