The #16 Texas A&M Aggies will have its first major test on the road this weekend against the #8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Texas A&M is 2-0 on the season and Notre Dame is 0-1.

Marcel Reed has played well during the first two weeks for the Aggies. He has completed 66.1% of his passes for 509 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season. Reed has also rushed for 105 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Is the dual-threat quarterback going to be available for Texas A&M against Notre Dame after suffering an injury last week?

Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed Will Be Good to Go for the Week 3 Matchup

Justin Williams of the Athletic was previewing the top games on the college football calendar for week three. Texas A&M and Notre Dame will be one of the top matchups of the weekend as kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock. Williams mentioned about the availability of Reed for this pivotal matchup and said,

"This is a rematch of last year’s season-opening win for Notre Dame, which hasn’t played since its Week 1 loss to Miami. The Aggies have looked great against inferior competition through two games, and coach Mike Elko said quarterback Marcel Reed will be good to go after an injury last week. The question is how Reed, with seven passing touchdowns and zero interceptions, handles a touted Irish secondary. A rested Notre Dame offense needs to get running back Jeremiyah Love going after just 33 rushing yards against the Hurricanes, and avoid the depths of an 0-2 hole to start the season."

It is a good sign that Reed is playing for the Aggies, but this will be the toughest test he has faced so far this season on the road. The current line for this game is Notre Dame at -6.5, according to BET MGM. Had Reed been out for Texas A&M, there may have been a chance that the betting line would have potentially gone up to double digits.

This is a game that Notre Dame has to win. Reed is going to have to play great if the Aggies want to win on the road. The Fighting Irish need to make uncomfortable all game long in order for Notre Dame to come out of this game with a win.
