The Baylor Bears have been known for landing top recruits and then sending them to the NBA. Baylor has not won a national title since the 2020-21 season, but they have always made theNCAA tournament and been in the national spotlight.

One recruit that this basketball program is very interested in is five-star recruit Dylan Mingo. He is a point guard and a five-star recruit in the class of 2026. Mingo is the ninth overall recruit in the ESPN top 100 for the class of 2026. He is also the third ranked point guard in the class. He is 6'5", 185 lbs. Mingo is from Brookville, New York, and currently attends Long Island Lutheran High School.

Dylan Mingo Visiting the Baylor Bears This Weekend

Joe Tipton of on3.com reported that Mingo is going to be visiting Baylor this weekend. Visiting the Bears will be next on his stop and he has been to several schools already. Some of the other programs he has seen were the UCONN Huskies, the Washington Huskies, the Miami Hurricanes, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

He also has received offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Missouri Tigers, the Dayton Flyers, and the Florida State Seminoles. Mingo plans on visiting only a couple of more programs after this weekend's visit with Baylor.

In a previous interview with rivals, he said,

"I want to play for a coach that values me a lot. Well, not even just the coach, the whole program. I want to have a strong relationship with the coaches, especially the head coach, and the whole coaching staff. And a winning program. I’d like to compete for a championship, and also a program that’s willing to play a freshman."

UCONN and Baylor could be two potentially places that he can play a freshman and compete for a national title. Alabama could be another program that fits the bill as well. There could be a chance that Mingo stays close to home and play for Dan Hurley in 2026-27.

Even with his visit to Baylor and Scott Drew this weekend, it feels like the Bears program has a long shot to land him. It would be a major win for the program if they were able to get another five star recruit to commit.
