The San Antonio Spurs are looking to be a playoff team in 2025-26 NBA season. One of the reasons why this team could potentially make the playoffs is because of Victor Wembanyama.

He has the chance to be a top 10 player in the NBA once the season is over. Wembanyama is only 21 years old and is still just scratching the surface. He has shown a lot of potential during his first two seasons in the NBA. After the all-star break, he had to be shut down for the rest of the season because of a blood clot. Wembanyama will be ready to go for this season and make an impact once again.

San Antonio Spurs Victor Wembanyama X-factor

Jack Nelson of nba.com previewed the upcoming season for San Antonio. Even with Wembanyama being the best player on the team, Nelson believes that he will be the x-factor on this team as well. He said,

"We’ve yet to see how “The Alien” responds to a long-term injury, but the Spurs will expect him to be that same towering force who smashed game plans regularly in the first half of 2024-25. The 7-foot-3 center is, after all, a generational talent whom the franchise spent the offseason building around.

Having averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and a league-high 3.8 blocks last season — all career-best marks – Wembanyama is only getting better as a two-way threat unlike any other in the NBA. His shooting improved across the board with a 58.6% 2-point percentage and 35.2% 3-point percentage. The 2023-24 Rookie of the Year’s impact on the game is tremendous, and highlight reels back that up."

The major x-factor might be his health rather this his performance. Everyone knows that when he steps on the court this season, he will probably be scoring 20 points or more a game, grabbing 10 or more rebounds a game, and blocking three to four shots per game. His talent is going to be on display every single night.

The Spurs will win many games this season if Wembanyama is on the court. There will not be any questions about his play. It is all about his health and that should be the story.
