Last month, the Spurs made a trade to acquire NBA veteran Kelly Olynyk.
The Spurs are set to have one of their best seasons in the last 5-10 years, hoping Olynyk can be a positive addition to the rotation.
This week, we found out what jersey number Olynyk will be wearing with San Antonio, as he chose the number of a past Spurs fan favorite.
What former Spurs' number is Olynyk taking?
According to 'NBA numerologist' Etienne Catalan, Olynyk will be wearing the number eight with the Spurs.
The last player on the Spurs to wear number eight was Patty Mills back in 2021.
Mills isn't exactly a legend in San Antonio like Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili were, but he holds his own with the role he played on the 2010s Spurs teams and the accomplishments he had in his career.

Mills won the NBA Finals with the Spurs back in the 2013-14 season, averaging 7.3 points in 23 games that postseason.
He played a career 665 games in San Antonio, scoring 6,218 points as a Spur.
Olynyk will have a lot of work to do to fill the shoes of Mills, who last wore his new number, but I'm sure Mills is honored to have a player like Olynyk wear it, who has crafted himself a nice career so far.
The Spurs will be the eighth team that Olynyk plays for in his career.
He most recently played for the Raptors and Pelicans last season, averaging a combined 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 41.8 3P%.
