The Trail Blazers recently made a shocking decision to buy out the contract of Deandre Ayton.
This was somewhat out of the blue and not expected by many.

Why did the Trail Blazers part ways with Ayton?
According to Jason Quick of The Athletic, the relationship between Portland and Ayton began to deteriorate.
They weren't happy with Ayton's attitude and reaction to certain decisions made.
He would "[throw] tantrums in the locker room after being benched for lack of effort."
One of Ayton's biggest critiques on social media has been his lack of effort at times.

Sometimes he is seen standing around watching a play rather than boxing out or staying with who he's guarding.
He was also said to have shown up late to team events, like practices and team flights.
Despite these issues, Ayton is currently a free agent and can fill the center void that many teams across the league need to fill.
