The New York Knicks are having an interesting offseason, and they could still make some finishing touches to their roster.

Last season, one of the Knicks’ biggest issues was their lack of depth. Over the past couple of months, they’ve addressed that issue by firing Tom Thibodeau, who was often criticized for playing his starters too much, and signing solid free agents, such as Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson.

While bringing in Mike Brown as head coach and giving him a couple of key role players is great, the Knicks could still make some more improvements. Most notably, the Knicks could still benefit from some added wing depth.

Sure, New York already has one of the best starting wing rotations in the league with Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges. But when those guys are out of the game, there is a significant dropoff in quality at their positions.

On SNY’s The Putback with Ian Begley, Lee Escobedo mentioned Amir Coffey as a potential target for the Knicks. Coffey could make a lot of sense in New York after spending his entire career with the LA Clippers and becoming a free agent this offseason.

Although he is still on the market and could be a great pickup for a team on a minimum deal, Coffey’s play is certainly worth more. Last season, Coffey had the best year of his career, averaging 9.7 points and shooting 40.9% from beyond the arc.

Considering all of the help the Knicks already have, adding Coffey could be the perfect cherry on top of their offseason.
