Knicks’ Jordan Clarkson praises team’s defensive wing duo image

The New York Knicks have an identity surrounded by offense this season, but the team’s top defenders are catching the attention of everyone else on the team.

In particular, the three-headed trio of Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Mitchell Robinson is earning plenty of praise so far this season. Robinson is the team’s longest tenured player, and is known for his staunch interior presence defending the rim. Anunoby and Bridges are two players who have arrived to the Knicks in recent seasons, and have both had a superb impact on the team’s overall defensive capabilities.

The Knicks are off to a fast 6-3 start to the season, with those defenders being a main catalyst as to why. After the Knicks recent obliteration of the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 134-98, newcomer Jordan Clarkson spoke about the impact that Anunoby and Bridges have had on the team.

“Those are probably the best perimeter defenders that I've played with, if not the best defenders that I've played with, including Mitch as well,” Clarkson said

The defensive duo of Bridges and Anunoby was a key factor in the Knicks’ surprise run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and it could play another large role this season as the Knicks aim to snap a 52-year title drought in 2025-26.
