After making drastic changes to the roster last offseason, the New York Knicks reached the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years. As they look to make tweaks in the margins, one former star gave his thoughts on a player the front office should go after.

During a recent episode of his "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast, Carmelo Anthony and Iman Shumpert gave their thoughts on the current iteration of the Knicks. They feel too much ballhandling duties are put on Jalen Brunson and the team needs another reliable guard alongside him. One person Anthony would love to see paired with the Knicks star is Lonzo Ball.

"I've been saying Lonzo in New York for a long time," Anthony said. "Now, when JB go out the game, now Lonzo can spoon feed."

Ball missed the last two seasons due to knee injuries but was finally able to return to action for the Chicago Bulls this year. He appeared in 35 games, averaging 7.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 1.3 SPG.

Injury history aside, Ball could be an interesting addition for the Knicks. Since entering the NBA, he's become an extremely versatile talent. With his improved jump shot, he is capable of being a threat with or without the ball. On top of this, his high IQ helps him be an above-average defender as well.

Ball is someone who can instantly slide into the Knicks' lineup and provide a boost. As Anthony mentioned, he is capable of leading the offense when Brunson is off the floor. Ball could also run with the starting unit as a secondary creator and floor spacer.

Depending on what the Bulls' asking price would be for Ball, it's an avenue worth considering for New York.
