Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will return to the Bucks for a 13th season. Entering his age-31 season, Antetokounmpo remains one of the league’s best talents.

Last season, Antetokounmpo was his typical dominant self, posting averages of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. He was named an All-Star, and All-NBA for the ninth consecutive season for his efforts.

However, the Bucks themselves were bounced out of the first-round of the playoffs once again last season. Now heading into the 2025-26 season, their roster looks like a shell of itself compared to the version that won the 2020-21 NBA championship.

Nonetheless, the Bucks will remain competitive since Antetokounmpo is still in town. Recently, ESPN ranked the Bucks superstar as the league’s fourth-best player heading into this season.

“If the Bucks had finished higher in the standings, he would have gotten more MVP love, but he still secured a top-four finish in voting for the seventh consecutive season,” ESPN’s Jamal Collier said. “Milwaukee's dominant big man is showing no signs of slowing down, reinventing his game by trading in 3s for more midrange jumpers, and it has made him even more efficient. Antetokounmpo remains, perhaps, the league's premier two-way threat, but he hasn't played in even the conference semifinals since 2022.”

Given the current state of the Bucks’ roster, Antetokounmpo may need to pull off his most herculean effort yet in order to bring the team back to the promised land. Should he remain healthy, Antetokounmpo figures to have another monster individual season just as he normally is capable of.
