There should be no doubt to any basketball fan that Milwaukee Bucks star power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is bound for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Two MVP awards, an NBA championship in 2021, nine All-Star selections, just to name a few, undoubtedly one of the best players in Milwaukee's history.

But his time in Milwaukee could be coming to an end.

Giannis To Request Trade Soon?

After a 48-34 season from the Bucks that saw Milwaukee take an early exit from the NBA playoffs, and then after the Bucks cut star guard Damian Lillard, an upset "Greek Freak" is likely to be expected, and according to Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes, Antetokounmpo could be trying to get out as soon as the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

“Myles Turner is an ideal big man to put next to Giannis Antetokounmpo, and it’s not going to matter,” Hughes wrote. “The Milwaukee Bucks are too short on supporting talent and too stripped of tradeable assets to fill out the rest of the roster in a way that makes championship contention realistic. It’s easy enough to stay optimistic about Milwaukee’s place in the East right now, but things will change once the actual games start.”

Antetokounmpo finished third in MVP voting last year after averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

The NBA trade deadline is still far away, February 5, 2026, and it will be interesting to see how the potential trade will affect the relationship between the future Hall of Famer and the Bucks as the 2025-26 season comes and goes.
