With even the slightest chance that Giannis could leave and request a trade, the Bucks are making moves to show him that they'll have a suitable roster going into next season.

After releasing Damian Lillard and not having a legit point guard on the roster, one insider reported the Bucks' interest in a former MVP.

What former MVP is Milwaukee interested in?

NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that Milwaukee "has suddenly emerged as a possible suitor for Westbrook."

Siegel highlights that it makes sense, "Given Westbrook's athleticism and speed, he would be an ideal fit next to Giannis Antetokounmpo on a Bucks team that likes to push the pace in transition."

Milwaukee has liked bringing in veteran point guards over the past several years, including Eric Bledsoe, Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard.

Siegel mentioned that the Bucks are also evaluating Chris Paul and Malcolm Brogdon.

Those three are some of the better/cheaper names left on the free agent market for point guards.

Similar to Paul, Westbrook is reaching the end of his career and still has no championship.

Milwaukee might not have the strongest chance to win it all next season, but if Giannis returns, then you can't count out the Bucks entirely.

In the 2024-25 NBA season with the Nuggets, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists.
