The Miami Heat snatched their sixth win of the season on Saturday thanks in large part to Nikola Jovic’s performance.
Jovic ushered in one of his best performances in his career up to this point in the Heat’s 136-131 win over the Portland Trailblazers. Jovic scored 29 points, snatched nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists in the win.
After a slow start to the season, Jovic seems to have turned a corner, and it couldn’t come at a better time for a Heat team that is dealing with numerous injuries to their star players. Jovic has now scored in double figures in each of his last two games.
Forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. Spoke with reporters after the game about Jovic’s performance and what it means to the team going forward.
“Really happy for him. He’s due for a night like that,” Jaquez said. “He’s a guy that can bring this team to the next level. Just keep continuing to feed confidence into him. He’s an incredible player.”
The Heat have jumped out to a solid 6-4 start through the first 10 games despite some lowly expectations heading into the season. After trading away Jimmy Butler last season, and bouncing out of the playoffs in a first-round sweep, the Heat are looking for a major bounce back in 2025-26.
