The Lakers' front office has had its hands full this summer.
They checked one big task of their summer to-do list a couple of days ago, signing Luka Doncic to a long-term extension.
They still have more to do, including navigating the future of LeBron James.
This lies in the hands of Lakers' GM Rob Pelinka, who we just got an important update on.
What was the update?
NBA insider/reporter Dave McMenamin was recently featured on "Hoops Talk with Allen Sliwa."
On the show, he talked about the future of Rob Pelinka.
It was announced not too long ago that owners would be selling a majority stake of the Lakers.
This brings up questions about whether people will stay in their previous positions, and who will be replaced or moved around.

Pelinka is one of the most important figures in the organization, as the person who makes the moves, so naturally, he came to mind as someone whose future was in question.
McMenamin said during his guest appearance, "Pelinka will likely remain GM for as long as Jeanie Buss is in charge of the Lakers as their acting governor. “So long as Jeanie’s in place, we also know that means that Rob Pelinka will be in place."
Jeanie Buss is the daughter of former Lakers owner Jerry Buss.
She had been involved with the Lakers organization for decades, but took over as team president eventually after her father passed away.
Jeanie Buss played a large role in helping Rob Pelinka throughout the last decade with the team, so McMenamin doesn't believe that Pelinka will be going anywhere as long as Buss remains with the Lakers.
Pelinka was with the team in 2020 when they won the NBA Finals.
