Basketball fans feared the worst, and John Haliburton seemed to confirm them.
Tyrese Haliburton's father spoke to ESPN's Lisa Salters, who provided a report just before NBA Finals Game 7 went to halftime.
Salters said John shared that it is indeed an Achilles injury. Haliburton has his family back in the locker room with him, and he's watching the game, according to Salters.
The Pacers' star point guard went down seven minutes into the game after his right leg slipped out from under him on an attempted drive.
Replays showed the signature popping visual that goes along with a torn Achilles.

Haliburton had drilled three early 3-pointers, including two from very, very deep.
But he hit the ground and immediately started pounding the court with his fist. He could be seen mouthing the apparent words, "I did it."
Haliburton seemed to know instantly how bad it was.
Somehow, the Pacers got to halftime with a lead. If Indiana can finish the job for its leader, it'd be quite the inspirational story.
