The Warriors made a bold move last season to trade for Jimmy Butler, in hopes of making a playoff run.
It worked out for a little while, but injuries cut their season short in the WCSF.
With a solid roster at the moment, they could add another big name this offseason.

Who are the Warriors interested in?
Buyouts have already become a common theme in the NBA this offseason.
Bradley Beal has a huge contract that the Suns are likely trying to part ways with, but have had trouble so far.
Beal could have a home if he were eventually bought out, as the Warriors reportedly could be one of several teams interested in signing Beal should he become available (John Gambadoro).

Interest isn't a definite that it happens, and there's no guarantee Beal gets his contract bought out, but Beal will likely want to go to a contender if he becomes a free agent. Golden State fits the criteria if it were to happen.
Beal isn't the player he used to be, but he is an experienced and talented enough veteran who is worth the pickup on a cheaper contract.
Golden State could be losing Jonathan Kuminga in free agency, so they will need to search for players to fill in the roster gaps.
In the 2024-25 season, Beal averaged 17.0 PPG, 3.3 RPG and 3.7 APG.
