The hype surrounding Dallas Mavericks no. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg has been simply astonishing since the Mavericks chose his name back in June.

The comparisons for Flagg have spanned a wide range of NBA legends, some have said Scottie Pippen, some have said Kobe Bryant, and most would agree that he is the perfect replacement for Luka Doncic for Dallas' long haul.

However, one former Dallas baller is going above and beyond in his comparison for the Duke Blue Devil.

Jim Jackson Compared Flagg to a Certain 'King'

Former Mavericks shooting guard and first-round pick back in 1992, Jim Jackson, went all the way and compared Flagg to one of basketball's all-time greats, "The King" himself, LeBron James.

“I think (Flagg’s) makeup is kind of like LeBron from the perspective of playmaking, even though he can dominate the game from scoring,” Jackson told Dwain Price of Mavs.com. “The footwork, the shooting, all the attributes you look at a high-level player, he has it, but I just think his ability to connect with his teammates and be the ultimate team player is kind of what separated him and why he’ll be an outstanding fit with the Mavericks.”

Jackson spent 1992-1997 with Dallas, averaging 25.7 points in the 1994-95 season, before an ankle injury cut his season to just 51 games.
