Texas Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott plays shortstop and third base. He is currently in Double-A for the Frisco RoughRiders.

Walcott is only 19 years old and is also the number four prospect in all of baseball, according to MLB.com. What did the Rangers top prospect do in his latest game?

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the ninth inning between the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City Royals Double-A Affilate) and the Frisco RoughRiders (Rangers Double-A Affilate), Walcott had the game-winning hit. Frisco defeated Northwest Arkansas by a final score of 4-3.

That baseball was hit super hard off of his bat. Walcott is projected to be with Texas at some point during the 2026 MLB season. He was signed as an international free agent on January 15, 2023. Walcott bats from the right side of the plate and he also hits from the right side of the plate.

Rangers' fans have a lot to be excited about with him for the future. In 119 games with Frisco this season, Walcott has a .250 batting average with 13 home runs and 57 RBIs, along with 32 stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .350.

Frisco will most likely not be heading to the playoffs in the Texas League at the Double-A level. Even with that being the case, Walcott has been impressive with the RoughRiders during the 2025 minor league baseball season. There is a very good chance that he begins the 2026 minor league baseball season with the Round Rock Express. Walcott is a potential future leadoff hitter for the Rangers organization.
