The Texas Rangers have decided to move on from manager Bruce Bochy as of Monday night. His contract expired and they did not want to give him a new contract. With this news, Texas is going to be looking for a new manager in 2026 and beyond.

Bochy is 70 years old, and the Rangers have missed the playoffs the last two seasons. Despite that, he led this franchise to its first World Series title in franchise history in 2023 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has made an impact not only on this team, but the fanbase over the last three seasons.

Texas Rangers Fans Appreciate What the Manager Has Done Over the Three Years

When the news was announced on Monday night, a lot of fans were grateful for the World Series title in 2023. They were sad about the Rangers not bringing him back next year, but there were a lot of great memories over the last three seasons.

A lot of fans realize how special he was in the dugout over the last three seasons. With Bochy now in the rearview mirror, it is going to be interesting to see who Texas will bring is as the next manager. Two potential candidates to replace him will be Skip Schumaker and bench coach Luis Urueta.

Once they decide on who the next manager will be, this organization is going to need to decide what to do with the roster. There is a chance that Texas may decide to move off some older players in the offseason. The Rangers may want to get younger with personnel and go in a different direction.
